Selling on StoptheDrop Standard Auction
StoptheDrop Standard Auction acts only to provide vendors with the means to offer their goods for auction whilst charging a standard fee for this service. It does not profit in any way from transactions that take place between independent sellers and buyers. It cannot therefore be held responsible for or be involved in any dispute between the buyer and seller.
Sellers intending to enter items for sale on StoptheDrop Standard Auction must first register and in doing so agree to the terms and conditions and in particular to the following.
- Lots offered for sale must be correctly described
- Fake, replica and reproduction items can only be sold if described as such
- StoptheDrop reserve the right to refuse any item for sale
- StoptheDrop cannot be held responsible for payment for any item sold on the auction or for the return of any item not accepted by the buyer
- Responsibility for postage must rest with the seller
- StoptheDrop cannot be held responsible for items that are not described correctly
- The seller agrees to pay by PayPal an upfront entry fee of either £1.95 if the highest price of the lot is £25 or below, or £2.95 if the highest price of the lot is over £25 and understands that this fee is payable whether or not the lot is sold and is therefore non returnable
- No commission is payable by either buyer or seller
Selling on StoptheDrop Premier Auction
The commission charged to the seller for items sold on StoptheDrop Premier Auction is 16% of the price at which the item is sold. The minimum amount charged being £8. The commission charged is inclusive of VAT. Under the VAT margin scheme rules the VAT element of the commission charged cannot be claimed back by the seller.
There is no entry fee and no commission charged for items that do not sell.
All payments received by StoptheDrop for items sold on the Premier Auction are held in a clients account until the buyer has received and approved the goods. When the goods have been received and approved payment will be made to the seller less the commission.
Buying on StoptheDrop Standard Auction
Buyers intending to purchase on either of the StoptheDrop Auction must first either register or sign in.
There is no buyers premium charged on either of the StoptheDrop Auction’s.
Once a lot has been purchased on the StoptheDrop Standard Auction details of the seller will be emailed to the buyer and the buyers details emailed to the seller. This will enable the two parties to contact each other and complete the transaction.
Buying on StoptheDrop Premier Auction
Buyers intending to purchase on either of the StoptheDrop Auction must first either register or sign in.
Items purchased on StoptheDrop Premier Auction can only be returned if there is a valid reason.
In the event of an item being returned StoptheDrop will hold payment in the clients account until the dispute has been resolved.
There is no buyers premium charged on either of the StoptheDrop Auctions.
Items entered for the Premier Auction can be purchased at the highest price at any time before the drop part of the auction starts.
Payment for purchases on Premium Auction
- All payments must be made to StoptheDrop.
- Payment can be made by:
Cash
Cheque (Drawn on an English Bank)
Money Transfer ( this method will incur a £7 extra charge)
PayPal
NB 3.5% Surcharge for payment by PayPal. - Payment must be made before purchases can be released.
- All payments will be held in our client’s account until the buyer has received delivery of and approved their purchase.
- In the event of any valid dispute, payment will be held until the dispute is settled or the goods have been returned to StoptheDrop.
Postage – Premier Auction
Postage will be charged depending on the destination, size & weight of the parcel and the amount insured.
We do not charge for packing.

Electrical Goods
Electrical goods are sold only as collectors items and should not be used without first being checked by a qualified electrician. Condition ratings given to lots for sale on Stop the Drop apply only to the appearance of the item. Clockwork, Electric and Steam driven items are sold as collector’s items only, they are not tested and therefore not guaranteed to work.
